Pour Choices offers new variety of great options on Sandy food scene
After buying and operating the former Beer Den for a few years, Ema Swan had a vision of a new life for the space. And that vision became reality on June 12.
Pour Choices Corner Bar, 38905 Proctor Blvd, Sandy, is Swan’s first foray into owning a restaurant, serving homemade food inspired by her Romanian roots and family of cooks. The space has kept 20 taps to serve beer and cider, but also added craft cocktails to the offerings.

“We wanted to do food and something different in Sandy,” Swan said. “I think Sandy needed something different.”
The space has a vintage vibe, and focuses on putting an elevated spin on comfort food favorites.
Included in her from-scratch menu are items like the popular Pour Chicken Schnitzel Sandwich and the Proctor BLT. The current drink favorite among return customers is said to be the Pour Fashion.
Pour Choices strives to keep ingredients fresh and sourced as locally as possible. They source their breads from small bakeries and make all of their drinks with fresh juice and citrus peels.
“I grew up cooking (with my family),” Swan explained. “I just want people to eat well and eat real food.”

Swan went on to categorize her restaurant as a place for “good food for good friends.”
For now, Pour Choices is open from 3-9 p.m. Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, from 3-10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and they are closed Wednesday.
Swan and her team have plans this fall to start offering brunch; they also hope to serve lunch next spring.
