Rotary Expands Literacy and Garden Initiatives This Spring

This year, we’re excited to grow our literacy initiative! In past years, every kindergarten through second-grade student received one book from our club. This year, we’re doubling that gift — each K–2 student will receive two books: one before Thanksgiving and another before spring break. Third graders will also receive a dictionary to support their growing reading and writing skills. Partnering with the Oregon Trail School District, we’re continuing our commitment to help every child develop the tools to learn, dream, and grow.

We’re also teaming up with the Sandy Community Gardens in Bornstedt Park to help prepare the grounds for the next growing season. If your green thumb is itching to get back in the soil, come join us — and other local volunteers — on March 18 at 1:00 p.m. It’s a great chance to dig in, connect with neighbors, and help cultivate community right here in Sandy.

We meet on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at The Fire Annex, 17459 Bruns Ave, in Sandy. Join us for a social half hour before our meeting (4:00–4:30 p.m.), followed by the meeting itself from 4:30–5:30 p.m. Guests are always welcome — come see how you can be part of something bigger!
