Support local and enjoy outdoor dining this summer

By Brit Allen, The Sandy Standard

With spring officially here and warmer weather on the way, the Sandy Area Chamber of Commerce wants to remind everyone of the great places people can dine outside this summer.

“Having an outdoor patio after COVID-19 is a great way to offer diners a choice of a relaxed, more scenic experience,” said Ria Brower, owner of Sandy Family Restaurant & Ria’s Bar. “It has also boosted sales by offering the option for the pet families and people wanting to enjoy the outdoors.”

Chamber member businesses that have an outdoor dining space include:

  • Bigfoot Growlers II, 39261 Proctor Blvd., Sandy
  • Boring Brewing Co., 38250 Pioneer Blvd., Sandy
  • Mountain Moka, 17450 S.E. Meinig Ave., Sandy
  • Mt Pizza and Brews, 38687 Proctor Blvd., Sandy
  • No Place Saloon, 38725 Proctor Blvd., Sandy
  • Sandy Family Restaurant & Ria’s Bar, 39024 Proctor Blvd., Sandy
  • Smoky Hearth Restaurant Bar & Grill, 16607 Champion Way, Suite 100, Sandy
  • Wippersnappers Kids Play Place, 16542 S.E. 362nd Dr., Sandy

For Chamber members interested in attending the organization’s cocktail hour networking event — REACH — multiple of these businesses will host this year.

Boring Brewing hosted in January, followed by No Place Saloon in February. REACH takes place the second Wednesday of the month. The following restaurants and bars are signed up to host in the future:

  • 4-6 p.m. June 10: Bigfoot Growlers II
  • 4-6 p.m. Aug. 11: Smoky Hearth
  • 4-6 p.m. Sept. 8: Mt. Pizza and Brews
  • 4-6 p.m. Oct. 14: Ria’s Bar

“Whether you’re looking for a drink, food, or to hang out with family and friends as the weather gets nicer, consider supporting these Chamber member businesses,” said Chamber Executive Director Khrys Jones.
