Every year, Clackamas County Bank rallies community members to participate in Support Mt. Hood Hospice Month, a series of fundraising events benefiting Mt. Hood Hospice and its mission to provide compassionate, end-of-life care regardless of a patient’s ability to pay.

Proceeds from these events directly support patient care and essential programs, including the Community Fund and Pet Peace of Mind program.

Since 1980, Mt. Hood Hospice has served the community with care grounded in dignity, respect, and unwavering support. Funds raised throughout the campaign help ensure that no family receives a bill for hospice services and that patients can remain comfortable with the support they need, including assistance for beloved pets, through trained volunteers who help with walking, feeding, and transportation to appointments. In addition, this program helps cover the cost of food, routine grooming, and routine vet care.

“We are deeply grateful for the strong partnership we share with Clackamas County Bank,” said Mt. Hood Hospice Executive Director Rhonda Franke. “Employees from every branch generously volunteer their time and energy to bring these fundraising events to life, helping sustain and grow our Community Fund.”

This year, CCB, Mt. Hood Hospice, and other community partners are prolonging the fun and fundraising, and encouraging community members to mark their calendars for the following events:

  • 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 28 – Dahlia Seminar at Burns Feed Store
  • 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, May 2 – Portion of proceeds donated at Pleasant Home Saloon (Karaoke starts at 7)
  • 4 p.m. Saturday, May 9 – Country Cutups Bingo Night (cash only event)
  • 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 6 – Annual Shred Event hosted by Clackamas County Bank (Sandy branch)
  • 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 13 – Special screening of “Back to the Future” at Sandy Cinema (doors open at 8:45)

Additional highlights include the dahlia bulb sale, a large raffle featuring a $750 White’s Country Meats gift card, high quality Japanese Seido knife set, and large custom wood cutting board, as well as a 50/50 raffle. Donations will also be collected at all Clackamas County Bank branches and matched up to $100 per donation.

As a not-for-profit, community-based hospice, Mt. Hood Hospice relies on local participation and generosity. Community involvement helps provide comfort to patients and peace of mind to their loved ones during life’s most difficult moments.

“As we see an increasing number of younger patients without private insurance, the importance of continuing this annual campaign has never been greater,” Franke explained. “It allows us to provide compassionate care for patients, their pets, and their loved ones — regardless of their circumstances or ability to pay. Access to dignity and support at the end of life is something everyone deserves.”
