Throughout the year, the Sandy Area Chamber of Commerce runs several programs, many on a monthly basis, to connect and promote local businesses.
As an additional level of support, the Chamber also has its ambassador program, which makes sure member businesses remain up-to-date on Chamber goings-on and connected to the benefits they receive as members.
“They are that liaison to the business community,” said Chamber Executive Director Khrys Jones. “As an ambassador, you’re meeting with businesses and acting as an expert in your field. It also gives them access to more businesses to network with in the process.”
The ambassadors meet once a month, and besides recruiting and checking on businesses, they also help by volunteering at Chamber events. They’re essentially the boots on the ground for the Chamber while the director handles overall operations of the organization.
“As Chair of the Chamber Ambassadors, I love helping, welcoming and connecting businesses in our community,” said Tracie Johnson, who is also fleet manager for Dick Hannah - Sandy. “In my role as Fleet Manager at Dick Hannah Ford, I work with businesses every day to help them succeed. My husband and I also own On Point Doors, so supporting local businesses and building strong relationships is something I’m passionate about both professionally and personally.”

“Renewing the ambassador program has helped me gain recognition as a community leader and expert in senior living and senior resources” said Ambassador Jessica Clemence of Cascadia Village Senior Living by Cogir. “I have a lot of pride in what we have accomplished since 2023 by contributing to community growth and supporting local businesses. I am excited to see what our ambassadors can accomplish in 2026.”
