On Saturday, May 16th, the Sandy Grange held a “Raising the Roof Spring Fling Event!  The idea was to raise money for a much-needed new roof. The creator of this event (Cathy) came up with the idea, and spent months preparing and planning for the day with her fellow grangers.

The grange members stepped up and all contributed in a variety of ways. From asking for local donations from various businesses to making homemade gift baskets, donating dog beds and paintings, to selling tickets, and more. The spring fling had a silent auction, multiple raffle baskets, door prizes, and live music.

In addition, there was a delicious home cooked meal served with multiple gourmet desserts. The event exceeded the grangers’ expectations and they were all blown away with not only how the members of the community stepped up, but also how many members from various granges attended the event.

Over 125 people helped support our cause and we are so appreciative of them all. Even Joyce Ramm (pamona master) was there! Together everyone that participated had so much to offer and helped contribute in so many different ways.

That’s what’s so great about being a member of the grange: seeing everyone work together for a greater cause. There were so many friendly and kind people that attended that day and it truly was a group effort:it would not have been possible without all of the generosity and kindness of the community.  Huge shout out to Ace Hardware, anonymous donors, and outside grange members!  Thanks to you all we are now halfway towards our goal!
