The Rotary Club of Sandy, Oregon, is proud to announce the continuation of the Diane Cordero de Noriega Scholarship, established in honor of one of our founding members whose dedication and service helped shape the spirit of our club and community.
Each year, this $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a Sandy High School graduating senior who plans to attend Mt. Hood Community College and demonstrates both financial need and a sincere commitment to serving others. While academic achievement is valued, the selection committee places particular emphasis on community involvement and the applicant’s demonstration of the Rotary motto, “Service Above Self.”
The goal of this scholarship is to support a student who shows the drive, persistence, and heart to succeed in college and to continue giving back to the Sandy area. Funds for the scholarship come directly from the club’s local fundraising efforts, reflecting the collective generosity of our members and the community we serve.
All applicants must have a completed FAFSA on file to verify eligibility for Federal Student Aid. Interested students should contact the school’s counseling office for application details and deadlines.
Through this scholarship, the Sandy Rotary Club continues Diane Cordero de Noriega’s legacy of literacy, compassion, and service, helping the next generation of community leaders begin their college journey with confidence and support.
