Hi neighbors!

I’m Tina Hergert, a registered nurse, a health coach, and a Sandy resident. I’ve lived here my entire adult life. This community is home, and I care about how we feel, how we live, and how long we stay well.

I chose to write this column for a simple reason. Too many people struggle to access care. Appointments take weeks or months. Costs add up. When people finally get in, they often leave with more questions than answers. Many get told, “Your labs are normal,” or “That’s part of aging,” while they still feel exhausted, foggy, anxious, in pain, or stuck with weight gain. They feel dismissed. They feel confused about what to do next.

I see this from both sides. I worked inside healthcare. I also talk with people every day who are trying hard to feel better and do not know where to start. Health information online is noisy and extreme. One person says you need a cleanse. Another says you need a pill. Most people need something simpler. Clear education. A few practical steps. A way to track progress.

My goal with this column is to bridge that gap. Each month I will break down one health topic in plain language and share next steps you can use right away. No shame. No scare tactics. No hype. You will learn what matters, what to ask your provider, and what habits move the needle for real people with real schedules.

I am building an online health and wellness business, but I also want to serve my neighbors right here in Sandy. I want everyone to feel seen, heard, and supported. You deserve a clear path forward, and you deserve to understand what is happening in your body.

Thanks for welcoming me into The Sandy Standard. Let’s take this one step at a time.
